This case is about my private apartment, thus, naturally this project is exceptionally challenging for me, an opportunity to express my individual style. The apartment is a standard contractor apartment, but I’ve allowed myself to stretch the limits and to create a unique-design experience, without compromising comfortability and functionality, of course. The planning of the space is specifically fitted to my personal requirements, and it is divided into two wings – a public wing and a private wing. The public space includes all of the functions I need in my everyday life, including cooking, hosting and work, and the private space, which includes the bedroom, a bathroom and a walk-in closet.
I’ve created the uniqueness by special textures, interesting materials and dynamic elements that create interest esthetically and accommodated to my lifestyle. Two light color sofas positioned in parallel to each other in the living room, and a wide library with modern design that integrates within it, conceals an access to the service balcony – when required it can move partially, and make a pass to the Livingroom. The kitchen is constructed by a front of stainless steel low cabinets, that to its side a wide island unit is integrated, which functions both as a desk and as a dining table for guests. In front of the table I’ve designed a three-dimensional wall with a unique look, which contains the rest of the kitchen’s functions as well as a door that leads to the private wing, so that it actually also consists as a barrier between the two wings.
The private wing has been designed more dramatically in relation to the public space. While in the public space I’ve used light and neutral materials, in the master suite I’ve chosen darker and deeper colors that emphasize urban style.
